Nathan Meister / Henry

Henry’s a golden boy, Meryl’s boyfriend and an up-and-coming filmmaker.

Nathan writes:

I am glad to join the community of talented people who have come onboard to support this film. It is a unique but not uncommon story that filmgoers have not always had an opportunity to hear.

Nathan Meister graduated from Toi Whakaari: NZ Drama School in 2002 and has performed throughout NZ.  He is a Chapman Tripp Theatre Award winner (Kikia Te Poa 2005) and has appeared on stage throughout NZ as well as featuring in both NZ and international film and TV.  Recent credits include Black Sheep (lead), Under The Mountain (acting and creature roles), Avatar, Paradise Café (guest lead) and Disney TV series Legend of the Seeker (guest lead).

Nathan was the first acting student invited to perform with the NZ School of Dance and has since worked with many of the country’s leading choreographers, including Raewyn Hill, Sarah Foster, Malia Johnson and Carol Brown.

As well as working closely with dance, Nathan has also been part of teaching the Training and Movement programme at Toi Whakaari for the past seven years.  In film he has worked extensively both in front of the camera and more recently behind the camera on digital feature films including Second Hand Wedding, Show of Hands, Acolytes (AUS) and Home by Christmas.  Nathan is also a regular actor with Radio NZ drama.

For women who want to make movies. And for the people who love them.
